Lisa Beth Older is a current member of the New York City Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association, and has in the past been an active member of the Ulster County Bar Association, the Saugerties Bar Association, and the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She served on the Law Guardian Panel for a term of four years and the 18-B Panel for four years. She has also served on the Membership Committee and the Judiciary Committee of the Ulster County Bar, and is currently a Family Law Section member of the New York State Bar Association.

Professional Background
From 1986 to 1990 she served on the 18-B Felony, Misdemeanor and Appellate panels of the State of New York for four years accepting criminal law assignments for the representation of the indigent. During that period Lisa Beth Older was in criminal court almost every day, and on several evenings appearing for criminal arraignments, grand jury representation, court appearances, preliminary conferences, and trials. She has handled literally hundreds upon hundreds of criminal law cases. In this context she prepared in sundry subpoenas, motions, demands for bills of particulars, memorandums, at least five appeals and two writs of habeas corpus. Of the five cases which she elected to have her clients testify before the Grand Jury, all five cases were dismissed against her clients.

As to matrimonial and family court matters, she has successfully tried or handled literally countless family law related cases from inception to trial or disposition. These cases involved custody, visitation, paternity, and child support, equitable distribution, alimony and maintenance, grounds, appearing at court conferences, conducting depositions, attending or executing depositions, trials, pleadings, filings, motions, discovery devices, separation agreements, QDROS, decisions, and judgments. She worked with financial accountants and cps, forensic experts to evaluate licenses, pensions and businesses. She handled several family Court matters in their entirety, including Article 10 hearings, juvenile offense hearings, custody and visitation hearings, and paternity lawsuits. She has also done countless appeals and post judgment enforcement work.

She has broadcasted a popular TV program on Divorce Lawyers and law in New York. NYC Divorce Lawyer appearances wth entertainment experience on popular TV shows and as a Legal Commentator on Montel Williams, Fox News, and other TV shows. She is the author of several published articles and co-authored a popular well-circulated DVD on Divorce Law in New York, custody lawyers in NY, and child support law in NY.

Lisa Beth Older is also a New York City legal analyst, having appeared on MSNBC News and ABCnews Now National and international television news stations, as well as the Montel Williams show, to render legal commentary on the Anna Nicole Smith Story in 2007. She has also appeared on Fox and Friends to discuss prenuptials.

As to Criminal Law, she has handled hundreds of criminal and vehicle and traffic matters from inception to disposition, trying dozens of cases to verdict including a double homicide jury trial leading to the acquittal of the defendant. Further, she acted as counsel through to verdict on four (4) murder trials, two of which were high profile, and was the attorney of record on an A-1 Felony narcotics jury trial, and burglary and robbery trials, all to verdict.

As to her other cases, she appeared in Supreme Court, Justice Court and Federal Court. In that context, she negotiated contracts for major corporations, appeared in civil actions, and drafted pleadings, motions, correspondences, and memorandums of law; Appeared in special proceedings, civil forfeiture actions, actions for evictions and complaints for moneys had and received; Represented defendants against claims brought by the New York state Attorney General's Office regarding Wic fraud; Brought actions for fraud and adverse possession through to judgment; Defended clients in eviction actions brought by the City Housing Authority; In the capacity of corporation counsel for a large steel manufacturing company, handled their commercial and collection defense work for a term of one year, including defense work in local justice Courts, Federal Court, Supreme Court and County Court.

During her professional career in New York State she drafted and prepared three appeals, one of which was personally argued before the Appellate Division, Third Department. During her career she worked on three appeals in her capacity as law student or law clerk for law firms in California, all three of which were ultimately successful. Recently, she successfully defended against an appeal of a post judgment decision involving custody and geographical relocation. This case is a current leading case on geographical relocation and custody.

She worked on an appeal brief defending a matrimonial judgment challenging million dollar judgment and the portion of brief she authored successfully defeated the appeal, managed a law library, prepared motions, performed legal research, and client contact.
